When I was in college, I had a personal experience about the April Fool's hoax. I remember my good friend telling everyone that she is pregnant on an April Fool's Day. The joke went on for months and we were all waiting for the signs and symptoms of pregnancy. After 5 months, her boyfriend proposed to her and that's when she said that everything was a joke. Too bad for the boyfriend who was so excited to have a baby.
There are a lot of stories about how April Fool's Day started, which depends on what country you are in.
